About Me
Hi! So happy you’re here! My name is Molly Bomann and this is my food & life blog. I currently am a senior at Purdue university and just want to share my life with my loved ones and recipes with everyone!

The Salty Sous
All through high school my biggest hobby was cooking and then posting pictures of my food and recipes on an account. The @theFrenchtoastqueen was such a fun outlet and since I still love cooking I recently made another account. I needed a new name, granted I don’t have the same lingering French toast obsession.

The head chefs ❤
A little about the head chefs I’ve been lucky enough to work under
Growing up I’ve learned everything I know about cooking from the people I love. I have a dad who truly does master the grill and a mom who is the greatest host I’ve ever met. I always was attached at the hip to my parents in the kitchen begging to be their Sous chef when making dinner, even if it meant only being on timer duty of when to turn the steaks.
My aunt lois would make delicious meals where I found so many new foods I loved through her rule of “no thank you servings” in which I had to try everything. I was lucky enough to cook with and later on, for my wonderful nana for almost 20 years. On my dad’s side, I remember being on tip toes to peer above the counter and see what went into the obnoxious health nut smoothie my FarFar was making. I also can thank him for showing me some of my favorite restaurants like the Damariscotta River Grill in Maine.

I love when my phone lights up because my cousin Anna has tried a new recipe and sends me a copy. She has showed me many of my favorite cooks and travels with a bag of cookbooks! My mom’s best friend has never let me be in her home more than 10 minutes without a plate of food and a seltzer in front of me!
I have also learned so much from my boyfriend’s mom and grandmother who since I was 15, let me pretend I have a cooking show and make a mess of their kitchen. It would be wrong not to note that their husbands and my boyfriend are presidents of “the clean plate club”.
There is nothing I find more joy in than cooking with my best friends and playing bartender. I hope for infinite more carne asada bowls in the backyard. I take that back! There is one thing more joyful…. CCN (Chicken cutlet night) made by Linda followed by chocolate chip cookies and Big Derek Jeter Cup!
I am an accumulation of all I’ve learned from these amazing people in the kitchen and in life. I have so much to learn but it’s a perfect foundation I wouldn’t change for anything and it’s definitely worth hearing about! It would be a great crime to keep the wealth of knowledge I’ve learned as a salty sous chef all to myself. Let’s put our heads together and COOK ❤
P.S. SALTY because I got it from my mama and that’s her favorite word! Also, always remember to salt your pasta water!
